A crossing. Red light for the pedestrians. We are standing on the kerb. Waiting . . . . Green! – GO! I'm going fast. Faster than the others. I'm the first one to reach to other side. I was racing. I know about it, I know that I race – they don't know. Is there anybody among them who was racing, and nobody knows about that but him? Interesting.

A crossing. Red light for the pedestrians. I'm standing on the kerb. Waiting . . . . . Green. GO? I'm walking fast. Fast as usually. Not faster than the others, for there are no others. I can race only against myself. I can try to defeat myself. I will win and I will be defeated... They say the point is to keep on defeating oneself. Do they mean: to be defeated all the time? Well, of course, defeated but by oneself, selfdefeated, yes, but anyway defeated.

What a nonsense.

To be a winner and a loser, at the same time – sounds very quantum.

How can one overtake oneself when crossing a street? How can one go faster than oneself?

This is helplessly interesting. This is more than quantum. This is fascinating.

Fascinatum?
