- I said to Christopher by telephone - we shall send letters. Thus a
book will happen. You’ll send to me tasty haiku and so very
tangle
prose. I’ll describe, in simple words, what I can see and
hear,
what’s going on with me here, at the foot of
“bald” mountains,
in the old orchard, I’ll send you views from my windows
constantly
covered at the bottom with the cloud of forest .... Let’s
letter-as-can-letter.
And thus a book has happened. Almost by itself. Within several months. Different mails used to arrive here. Everyone joining us got his/her font. Since covers are never the limits, starts and ends, of a book, the body text (or the base collection) began to be surrounded by the additional texts, before-texts and after-texts. Finally I stopped this avalanche. I “put everything in order”, edited, printed, bound. Then I packed six thin and thick books into one big envelope. A few years later I put out one of them and stitched together the other five. |
